Sergio Retamal is President and Founder of Global4PL, a logistics consulting and execution company that helps companies reduce cost, improve compliance, and achieve their full operational potential. Prior to founding Global 4PL, Mr. Retamal gained significant experience managing logistics and import/export teams in both established and early-stage companies, and is widely recognized as a leader in the field. He has led global logistics for a number of Fortune 100 companies, and has taught logistics and held board positions for the California State University system. Sergio’s professional experience includes directing the development and management of complete supply chain networks in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Sergio’s past roles involved planning and leading global supply chain strategies for companies such as Sun Microsystems, Ryder Integrated Logistics, Cost Plus World Market, and Micropolis. Mr. Retamal holds a Masters Degree in Change Management from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and a Masters Degree in Business Administration in international business from California State University, Northridge. He also holds a Bachelors of Science in International Business from California State University.

Jeff Chiu is a Principal of Globa4PL. He heads all import / export engagements and is a recognized expert in the compliance field. He is a licensed US Customs Broker and possesses over 13 years of experience in import/export operations and compliance, with emphases on internal CBP and BIS audits, commodity classification, tariff engineering, trade programs, rulings and training. Jeff’s past roles involved managing and executing import and export operations for companies such as Cost Plus World Market, MyCustoms, Inc., Coppersmith, Inc., Clearfreight, Inc., and Tower Group International, Inc. He is one of the few professionals in the country who has implemented C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), ISA (Importer Self-Assessment), ACE (Automated Customs Exchange), CCATS (Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System), VAT (Value Added Tax – EU), remote filing, and alternative recordkeeping programs. As an expert and mentor in the import / export field, Jeff has developed and conducted extensive training on a broad range of import and export compliance topics for various audiences. His expertise also extends to commodity and rulings-specific training. His speaking style is engaging and he has the ability to make dry subjects interesting for his audiences. Mr. Chiu holds a Bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and has advanced his studies at the Université de Bordeaux III in France.

Kathleen Holmgren is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the storage, computer systems, and management consulting industries. As Mendocino Software's CEO, Kathleen was responsible for the company's vision, direction and operational management. As a Sun Microsystems SeniorVP/GM, Kathleen rapidly grew Sun's storage business in 3 years to a $1.5B business. She was accountable for the development and implementation of division's business strategies, product roadmaps, new product introductions, and marketing activities, and led several acquisitions and forged strategic alliances with key partners such as Hitachi Data Systems, LSI and Veritas. Prior to her role in storage, Kathleen spent 11 years in the Operations group at Sun managing and leading all aspects of worldwide logistics, plant management, materials procurement, supply planning, process engineering, and manufacturing plant design. Kathleen is currently a Director with the Alliance of Chief Executives and has a BS in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, SLO, and holds her MBA from Stanford University.

Ronald M. Lloyd is an award-winning VP of Operations and COO with 25 years of experience from early stage up to Fortune 150 companies. Most recently, Ron was COO of Fat Spaniel Technologies, and prior to that VP of the WhiteStar program at Tesla Motors. He spent 13 years at Sun Microsystems in VP roles in Operations and the Network Storage Division. Ron moved from "high tech" to "green tech" in the early 2000's, and has managed and led all aspects of product development, new product introduction, material sourcing and procurement, factory siting and construction, manufacturing, subcontractor management, and quality system management. He has managed systems implementations ranging from full ERP's to shop floor controls systems, to workflow systems piggybacked on CRM's. Ron has a BSE from Harvey Mudd College, and a MS Civil and Environmental Engineering specializing in Alternative Energy from Stanford University.

Larry A. Brown has over 25 years experience in the computer networking, semiconductor, computer workstation, and software application industries. He has previously worked for Cisco Systems where he led the development and deployment of a program that improved the quality and delivery of Cisco's technical solutions to major customers. At Sun Microsystems, Larry led its largest production organization in the world during some of the highest growth years in Sun's history. He has also worked for Novell as a Director of Quality Programs, for WordPerfect as a Director of Worldwide Forecasting and Materials Planning and has held manufacturing management positions at Advanced Micro Devices and Fairchild Semiconductor. He is a Commander (Ret.) in the U.S. Naval Reserve and has Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Michigan Technological University and Brigham Young University respectively. Fiona Lo is a Principal of Globa4PL in Hong Kong where she is the Regional Manager for Asia Pacific. Ms. Lo is the liaison between customers’ and suppliers’ issues related to logistics management, especially in local and intra-Asia engagements. Fiona is an expert in ocean transportation and cross-border operations southern China. Her extensive supply chain management experience encompasses the execution of imports and exports for large shippers out of Asia into the USA and Europe, as well as building and coaching strong customer service centric teams for one of the largest ocean carriers in the world. Fiona served as the Pan-Asia focal point for an internationally recognized business. She is well respected by her peers, her superiors, and customers. Fiona has strong interpersonal and communication skills; she is fluent in both Chinese and English. Ms. Lo holds a Bachelors Degree of Business Administration from the Simon Fraser University in Canada.
